Junior Johnson, whose driving skills took him from the dusty back roads of North Carolina to the auto racing hall of fame, will receive the Smokey Yunick Award Saturday night, Oct. 14, during pre-race ceremonies for the Bank of America 500 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
